From our technical department and sales team to our warehouse and customer service staff, every member of the SPD team plays a vital role in delivering the high levels of service we have become known for.
Led by a management team with decades of experience within the electrical industry, SPD combines technical expertise with a personal, approachable service that reflects our family-run roots.
Every member of our team plays an important role in delivering the high standards of service we are known for, whether that’s providing technical guidance, supporting customers with product selection, ensuring orders are delivered accurately and on time, or helping customers find the right solution for their installation.
We’re proud to be large enough to support major projects across the UK, yet small enough that when you call us, you’ll speak to someone who knows your business and understands your requirements.
Helen Johnson, CEO
Helen has been part of SPD Ltd for almost two decades and is passionate about making surge protection simple, accessible and cost-effective. As CEO, Helen leads the business with a strong focus on customer relationships, technical integrity and the family values the company was built on.
At the weekends, Helen can be found competing her horses at various dressage competitions all over the country.
Kirsty Johnson, Technical Director
Kirsty is widely recognised within the electrical industry for her technical expertise and passion for education. As Technical Director, she plays a key role in product development, compliance and delivering industry-leading technical guidance and CPD training.
Away from the office Kirsty loves travelling and discovering new destinations, whether that’s relaxing in the sunshine or exploring a new city, she is always chasing adventures.
Kim Kayley, Warehouse Manager
Kim plays a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly and efficiently, with a strong focus on organisation, accuracy and customer service. Kim ensures orders are processed quickly and to the highest standard.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys hiking with friends and spending time with her much loved Daschund.
Aileen Rose-Hill, Finance Manager
Aileen plays an important role keeping the financial side of the business running smoothly and efficiently. With a keen eye for detail and a calm, approchable nature, Aileen supports both our team and customers with professionalism and care.
Outside of work, Aileen enjoys going to the gym and riding her horse Mickey.
Rachel Lane, Office Manager
Rachel plays a vital role in keeping the day-to-day operations of the business running smoothly as well as supporting the HR side of the business, with her organised, proactive and approachable nature.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys walking her dogs (three chow chows and a cane corso), she also likes catching up on the latest Netflix series, she always had good suggestions.
Andy Poulter, Sales Manager
With a strong background in electrical wholesaling, Andy works closely with wholesalers and contractors across the UK helping them select the correct surge device for their installations. His approachable nature and industry experience make him a valued support to customers and colleagues alike.
When he’s not on the road visiting customers, Andy enjoys fishing, bird watching and amateur astronomy.
Melanie Hilton, Warehouse Operative
Mel works within our warehouse team and helps to ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time. With a strong focus on customer service and efficiency, Mel is always determined to make sure orders leave the warehouse for next day delivery whenever possible.
Outside of work, Mel enjoys hiking along with exploring different cities.
Joe Ward, Internal Sales Executive
Based at our head office Joe is passionate about supporting customers with their surge protection requirements. He enjoys a hands-on approach, whether that’s running promotions, giving training sessions, or representing the company at exhibitions and industry events.
Joe likes to go swimming on the evening after work, as well as attending MMA and Jiu-Jitsu classes.
Luqmaan Mehmood, External Sales Executive
Luqi looks after our North West area, whilst also occasionally supporting customers across West Midlands and Wales. With an engineering background and a genuine passion for understanding how things work, Luqi brings a knowledgeable and practical approach to supporting the electrical industry.
Outside of work, Luqi enjoys playing football, spending time with family and friends, and is a self-confessed foodie who loves trying different cuisines at local restaurants.
